my view on the issue
Overall, having considered all of the ethical and religious views of euthanasia, I have come to a conclusion that euthanasia is not moral. I do understand that a person may be feeling unbearable amounts of suffering and would want to end their life, however I believe that everyone should value their life and be grateful for being so privileged before their illness. Euthanasia is an easy way to end a person's life, and if it were to be legalised in the UK and other countries around the world, many more problems could arise. For instance, murder and other serious crimes would become more widespread and common, and people will easily be able to end their lives even if they are not experiencing that much pain. Furthermore, euthanasia has a very negative effect on the families and friends of the patient who has decided to take their own life and many more people will be forced to experience these feelings if it is legalised. I also believe that it is not at all moral to help someone take their own life or leave them to die under any circumstances as although the patient is not being killed through anger and revenge, the act of terminating someone else's life has the same consequences as murder. Therefore, I do not think that euthanasia is morally right.
But what do you think? After reading about different ethical and religious views, is euthanasia moral? That is for you to decide.
